![]() Cassidy Serhienko Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two. THIS book. THIS BOOK. I am RUINED. For anyone who hasn’t read A Court of Thorns and Roses (book one), there are going to be some serious spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned. So when you first start reading this book you’re like “Aw man, am I going to have to deal with a whiny, sad pushover Feyre for an entire book. Because I do not have time for that.”, but then pretty quick you’re like “YES THIS IS THE BADASS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!”. You also realize that Tamlin needs a swift kick to the you know what. He’s a total douche canoe right from the get-go. So I spent the beginning of this book hoping someone knocked him down a few pegs (and relieved him of some teeth) and that Feyre would just hurry up and make out with a certain someone already (she did *wink wink*). But my beautiful Rhysand. You are perfect. How I’ve missed thee these many months. I cannot begin to describe the total rage I felt when you discover the depth of what Amarantha did to him. If that bitch was still alive, she would become the Reek to my Ramsay Bolton for any Game of Thrones fans out there. I really enjoyed seeing more of Prythian through Feyre and her adventures because in the first book you honestly don’t see very much, and I liked getting to understand the Spring Court better through the eyes of someone who wasn’t totally enamored with it’s irritating High Lord (this is on you Feyre, I mean I got it at the beginning of the first book, but come on dude). But that ending. You have got to be kidding me Maas. I’d been having a grand old time for most of this book. Sure stuff went down and it wasn’t always easy, but I wasn’t freaking out. They’d get everything sorted. But then the last twenty or so pages were a whirlwind. I nearly combusted and after I finished I had to slither down to the floor and contemplate my entire life for a few minutes (ask my sister, this happened). I also almost pulled a Silver Linings Playbook and considered throwing my book out the window but decided my mother probably wouldn’t find my melodrama very endearing. So many new plots are revealed or introduced, you aren’t sure who Feyre can trust, and you definitely don’t know how she’s going to make THAT work. But I mean she’s so freaking badass she probably will, and it will probably make you feel inferior. Because unless you’re High Fae created by the seven High Lords of Prythian, and generally super tough and sassy, you probably are. Anyway, READ THIS SERIES. Sure it might make you feel a little bipolar, but it’s completely worth the madness.
